  1. The main concern of the government should be the economic growth. It is because we need money first then we can think about conservation.
The people are more concern about livelihood. When there are loss of rainforest, it will increase in land to build buildings and it also increase in job opportunities. Also the needs of people such as housing estate to live in.
For example, in 2003, George W. Bush was elected as US President instead of Algore. Algore used conservation of rainforest as token of election. Thus, not many people agree as they know conservation of rainforest need more money and effort. The people tend to afraid that government will be more concern of environment instead of economic growth. Overall, before we start concern on conservation of rainforests, we need to ensure that our economic is stable enough to start conservating as a lot of money need to be put it.

  2. i think that the conservation of rainforest is the larger issue compared to the economic growth. due to the large amount of forests being cleared every year, not many governments really stop to think of the consequences of having lesser trees.
during human respiration, carbon dioxide is given out and in response to this, trees take in the carbon dioxide and give out oxygen which is essential to human beings. thus when trees are being cut down, the amount of oxygen in the air is decreasing at an alarming rate as trees are the main source of our "changing carbon dioxide to oxygen" system.
the rate of flooding also increases as trees are being cut down. why is it so? this is because when trees are cut down, surface runoff of water during precipitation increases and the water will all flow into the river or sea, causing it to be shallower. when a period of higher precpitation occurs, the water will overflow the river bank and flooding will occur.
though it is agreeable that aome countries suffering from poverty cannot help it from cutting down trees to improve their living standards, there will always be a way out. if there is lack of financial assets to conserve the forests, assistance are always available. for example, the united nations. as the saying goes, "when there is a will, there is a way."
so let us use think of the forest while doing wasteful things(:

  3. Conservation of the rainforest

Without rainforest, there would be adverse effect on the environment. Temperature rise would occur globally, animals may lose their homes and become endangered/extinct. Floodings and other natural disaster would occur. Air pollution and haze would happen, resulting in environment pollution. People may have lung infection and asthma, whick weakens and cause people to be sick.

Without forest, people are already suffering , what's there to talk about economic growth?

If economic growth is to be chosen rather than conservation of forest, global warming, loss in biodiversity, natural disaster would happen. Wth global warming, temperatures increases, icebergs would melt, there would be an increase in water level. Countries in low-land areas would be totally covered in water and they will have to move to other high-land areas, lots of money would be needed to repair areas affected by flooding, the economy will fall and people would be living in fear!!!

Even with countries with lots of reserves, the reserves will also be used up in a short time and economis crisis would happen!!
    Cutting down forest=no economic growth.
Even with economic growth, we will be economically comfortable but not environmentally ! and this is not long-lasting!!!

  4. The main concern of the government is the economic growth.
Government needs to atted people's needs first especially on the levels of economic wealth. The world only forcus on the economic growth rather then conservation of the rainforest.
As resources demand from the forest can't be easily reduce. Although alot of country is practising "Reduce Reuse Recycle", we are still cutting down as many trees as before for alot of purpose.
Afforestaion and Reforestaion were carried out. However, the incentives given to the local to replant trees were not attractive enough for them to participate in the projects. Replanting of trees are expensive too.
As currently what the world have done to help doesn't make any differents, so why is there a need to continue the conservation which need money and uneffective. Those money can be used to provide aid during the economic down turn.
In order for country to strive, there has to be economic stability. Hence, we agree that the economic growth is the main concern of the government.

  6. The main concern of the government is the economic growth. The government focuses on economic growth because only with economic growth that our country will prosper. Firstly, the government must fulfil the needs of their people so that their people will give them the support in everything that they want to do. This is because; the government needed funds and manpower to do things, including the conservation of the rainforest. The government needs lots of funds and manpower in order to conserve the rainforest as some areas in the forest is inaccessible. In order to replant the trees that have been logged, the government needs to buy machines. We could also do our part in conserving the forest by using the 3R and that is reuse, reduce and recycle. As a conclusion, we have concluded that economic growth is given more attention than the conservation of the rainforest.

  7. I think that the government main concern should be the Conservation of rainforest.

Though we can have good wealth but we will lose our goo health in some or another due to deforestation.

The temperature will rise globally. Icebergs will melt at a rapid rate. It will increase the quantity of water and also led to more floodings in certain part of the world.

Other than that, deforestation will also cause air pollution. Many forest are cleared by burning causes an increase in smoke in the atmostphere and therefore result in haze. There will be an increase in health problems such as: eye, nose and throat irritation and causes headache and lung infection.

Thus we can conclude that conservation of rainforest is gradually more important than economy growth. Without conservation of rainforest, our livelihood will be affected as well as the economy development. It is because there will a tremendous decrease in tourism rate and reveune due to haze.

Let us find ways to conserve the rainforest together!

  8. I think conservation of the Rainforest should be the main concern of the government. It is because conserving the rainforest will be useful for the future generations and it can also prevent the extinction of bird and animal species and also to prevent the loss of biodiversity. If there are deforestation, it means the weather will be hotter and when the weather is hot, people will suffer from heat stroke. Although trees can be burn down easily by forest fires, it can also cause air pollution. When there are air pollution, there will be more people suffering from health problems due to the haze. When there are haze, it will also affect the tourism industry.

Thus in our conclusion, conservation of the Rainorest should be the main concern of the government. It is because when deforestation occurs, there will be lots of problems and it can also affect the tourism industry which in turn affect the country's economy. So it is important for the government to concentrate on the conservation of the Rainforest follow by the Economic Growth.

  9. The main concern of the government is economic growth,as economic growth is needed for the survival in this competitive society. The government need to meet the demands of its people to sustain growth of the country. In order for the country to develop the government have to sacrifice resources in exchange for the development of their country.

However, conservation of Rainforest shouldn't be neglected, if people destroy rainforest for economic growth, it may destroy the beauty of nature and even cause serious damages to the world. An example would be global warming, this is cause by men clearing down forests for their self interest. this will heat up the Earth & would affect our living conditions.

From my opinion, economic growth is important in the development of a country. Therefore, forest have to be cleared to make way for the building up of industries that could increase the country's income. When buildings and industries are set up,it make way for different types of job opportunities. For example in Singapore, many people work in the secondary and teritery industries thus earning more income as compared to the primary industries which earn lower income. This would then, increase the economic growth of a country hence the standard of living increases.

However, when the Government cleared too many forest, this will result in global warming causing the earth to be much more warmer. Thus, selective cutting is appropriate in this issue so as to not destroy too many trees. The beauty and species that could be found in the forest may be gone if we cut down unnecessary trees. There is a need to reserve the forest as the trees are important sources of living.Trees could be use as timber and to make paper. Hence,if our natural resources runs out,our country will suffer and we need to find alternative way to produce paper.

Therefore,I conclude that conservation of Rainforest and Economic development is equally important in one's country. This is because if rainforest is unavailable, the country could not produce it's own natural resources and this will affect the economic growth. For example in Kalimantan where it is surrounded by almost rainforest.

    Thank you.

  11. Honestly both of us think that saving the ENVIRONMENT is more Essential. Supporting the point I have stated I just want to raise this question 'will you be stable if u are making money in an oven?' Certainly NOT and that is why i said Environment is more important than economy. Not to a very large extent but saving the environment is just important because it affects the whole world. And if we say that Economic Development is more important..to what extent is it important? Even if the DCs prosper, people in Africa will still starve.

I am not trying to make a point that Economic Development is not important. It is a secondary issue if we were to compare it to Environment Issue- Global Warming.By saving the Environment we can ensure that future generation will be able to survive in this 'Filled With Dilemma' World.

  13. Conservation of the rainforest should be the main concern of the government .

Forest plays an important role. why ? Firstly , It provides habitat for flora and fauna.we can also carry out recreational activites like hiking and camping. scientists also study forest plants to develop medicines and conduct scientific research. if we do not conserve our forest , all these cannot be done and there will be a loss in biodiversity and natural resources.

However , we also shouldn't neglected economic growth because the government not only need to help conserve the forest , but also to sustain growth of the country.

In conclusion , conservation of the rainforest is the most important because without the forest , there would be an adverse effect on both the environment and people. But for economic growth ,
maybe global warming will occurs and icebergs will melt. By then it will causes a high temperature and also increases in water level . Thus, causing a down fall in economy too.

  14. Personally, we believe that Conservation of the Rainforest should be the main concern of the Government. This is because the destruction of the rainforest would also result in a destruction of the economic growth of a country in the long-term.

Conservation of the Rainforest plays a key role in the economic growth of a country. Rainforests have contributed a wealth of resources for the survival and well-being of humankind. These resources have included basic food supplies, clothing, shelter, fuel and industrial raw materials. Massive deforestation would result in many negative consequences such as soil erosion, air and water pollution, the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and the loss of biodiversity.

Fewer rainforests also mean less oxygen for us. Humans need oxygen to breathe and we give out carbon dioxide. Plants on the other hand, take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen. This proves that humans and plants need each other to survive. If one were to be destroyed, it would only take a matter of time for the other to succumb to the ill fate as well.

Furthermore, the destruction of the rainforest would lead to an economic loss as the rainforest has a lot to offer in order to accumulate revenue for the economy. The rainforest has more economic value than if they were to be cut down for timber or to make land.

Hence, we conclude that Conservation of the Rainforest should be the main concern of the Government as the destruction of the rainforest would not necessarily mean a positive economic growth as the rainforest plays one of the key roles in the growing of the economy.

  15. Is it too late? The question resonates environmentalist minds. Are we too late to save our planet? To protect the lungs of the earth? Though government efforts of conserving the forest is in place...are we making full use of it? Nature conservation efforts in ensuring forest future sustainability, reduce effect of global warming, reduce carbon emission, reduce health problems and avert natural disaster. People do know that harmful effects of illegal logging and deforestation.... yet few bothered. The same question is repeated in the face of mankind when they lit a cigarette in their hands, puffing their pathetic lives away. Knowing well the harmful effect it has on their lungs. Are we able to put a stop this craving? Why choose an apple that cost much more den the other? Superpower nations are indirectly and indefinitely supporting illegal logging by buying illegal wood that cost cheaper then Government-permitted logged wood. The ecstasy for supply is overly enticing. When the demand is high, naturally the supply will increase to cater for the high demand, encouraging more illegal logging. Forest also cannot be conserved completely as there will always be demands for wood products. Gratefully, minority of us are still morally conscience to our surrounding and the future of our generation.....

Rising population is yet another concern for the driving force of deforestation to create more land for housing settlement etc( urbanisation)". The world is developing.......nations are growing cutting down trees are necessary but we have failed to understand the course of nature plans. Perhaps it is time for us to reconsider our funding... concentrating on new ways of harnessing cleaner energy rather den senselessly clearing our forest why don’t we source out new ways to save them? From the eyes of a politician, national development and catering to people’s need is always placed first. What more of reserve is useful when the world is facing a global crisis when humanity is at stake.. Can money save us all? Deforestation may be a slice cake to the end of humanity..But have we awakened from our selfless delusions?

In a nutshell, both aspects are detrimental to mankind. A world without economy emboldens greater crimes and disputes..the Economy separates a beast from human..More bloodshed will occur without trades. It would be the era of survival of the fittest. While, procrastinating the fact of environmental issues might not seem such of an imminent threat but have we forgotten? Gaia - earth, is our homeland.. Without earth would there be us? Where would mankind possible survive? Either way, destruction of mankind is final..The only way to stop this crisis is through global consensus, yet not all of us are ready to fight this crisis.... would we accommodate to others? Would we settle our disputes and differences without damaging our environment? Can we even the odds between economy and the environment? The basis of our perspective has to change.. in order to attain a higher level understanding to stop deforestation and other global threats.’ its not a political issue, its a matter of perspective'

  19. Conservation of the rainforest is more important Economic Growth. It provides us with supply of air, water and useful materials.

Due to deforestation done in many countries, greenhouse gases are increasing. Iceberg in the North and South poles are melting. Temperatures in many countries have increase tremendously affecting everyone. The only way to reduce this is through deforestation. Forest has been providing us wit huge supplies of e.g. fuel wood, medicine, food.

Economic growth is important for countries but without having proper structure in the country such as maintaining the forest the country would fail in its economic. Thus as human beings, we must treasure our natural resources such the forests.

  22. Conservation of rainforest is more important compared to economic growth. Rainforest affect us directly by causing Global Warming which led to flooding, etc. Global Warming is also the problem that all people is facing nowadays. Rainforest provide most of our daily needs, and we are unable to live without the things that provided by the trees. Like example, without trees, there wont be any paper, timber and some medicine. Conservation of rainforest are related to all people living on the Earth. Every countries have to play a part in order to make sure Earth are suitable for our next generation to live in.

But economic growth are only related to individual country. And economic growth will not led to any natural disaster, etc. And to develop the country need not cut trees for sales. There's definitely alternate way to get revenue. But there wont be another Earth for us to live on.

  23. From our opinion, Conservation of the rainforest should be the main concern of the Government. Destruction of rainforest could also affect economic growth in one way or another.

The destruction of the rainforest and the loss of living species dying along with them, are the most serious damage to nature. The causes of forest degradation such as logging, mining, industrial development have been a practice to some countries to expand their country’s economy growth. With this, they have makes the greenhouse effect worse. More or less, it does affect us.

comming back to the point "Is Deforestation necessary for Economic Development?"we feel that ,yes, the world can't balance economic and enviroment at the same time.it is because if the world can balance both economics and enviroment at the same time ,deforestation would never be a serious issue to some areas like south east asia and Brazil.

deforestation has to happen afer economic growth as economic growth would mean more demand and demand will see more factories and wil led to clearing of forests sooner or later.
on conclusion we feel that Deforestation is necessary for Economic Development.thanks

  24. The Forest is the main key to our survival.
We depend in terms of their natural resources and foods.
As we all know, the forest prevent global warming from occurring.
If we do not conserve it and keep on cutting down these forest,
this will really affect us as there will be too much carbon dioxide in the air that will led to asthma and lungs problems.Haze will also occurred when burning of trees.
Life of the flora and fauna in the forest was affected which caused them to be endangered and eventually become extinct. They must find a new forest to call their new home.

We also need the forest to provide us with our everyday necessities.
The forest can manufactured us a lot of useful things.
When there is more demand of things, more trees will be cut down and more factories will be needed to manufacture the demanding items. However, humans is the main caused of the rainforest destruction and deforestation as we are cutting down trees to make wood fire, timber and spaces on agriculture for farms.
The government thought that it will be a small matter but it turn out to be a big and serious matter which caused the global warming towards the humans and animals.
The government tried a lot of ways in maintaining the rainforest by planting more trees, advice their people by acknowledging them about the importance of rainforest and conserving the trees in the forest.

However, economic growth increased the standard of living in the country.Employment is most needed during the economic growth. If the economy grows rapidly, the aggregate demand will race ahead.Producers will take advantage by increasing the pricing rate. This will led to negetive effects on the people's quality of life and affect the country's ability to sustain its economic rate of growth.

Here,we conclude that conservation of rainforest is the main concern of the government as it will affect the environment of the people, the living organism and the whole world whereares the economic growth will only affect the people living in the country.

  25. Conservation of the rainforest should be the main concern of the government. In this situation, the earth is already suffering from global warming which is caused by human activities. With global warming going on, is economic growth still that important? The livelihood of our fellow human beings is being threatened, by global warming. So what if we have a stable economy but with the earth half-dead? If we don't do something with the rainforest, global warming is going to get more serious and countries like Greenland is going to get totally covered with water. What's there to improve on economy when your country turns into nothing but covered with only water? Without earth, there would be no mankind and there would be nothing much like economic growth to talk about. Deforestation has cause a loss in biomass and biodiversity. Animal and plant species were lost. Air pollution is one of the causes also. Example, Haze is one of the problems. It affects worldwide, not only one country. Just by cutting down trees, so many problems can be created and this problems are important. It is an global issue! The forests are the lungs of the earth and if humans still insist on economic growth, this lungs would be lost and the earth will die one day. We must do something to save the Rainforests, it is an important part of the earth and to the mankind. We can't afford to lose these forests. Yet, economic growth is also important. A stable economy would mean a stable country. Is it possible to balance Economic growth and Conversation of rainforest? It is possible if we use clean/renewable energy. If we don't conserve the forest, our economic will grow and yes, we will be economically stable and prosper. But it won't last, in another 40-50 years, countries would be covered with water. We MUST conserve the forest and meanwhile, we need to have alternative ways to boost our economy.
Save the earth before thinking of economy, that should be our main concern.

  26. I think the economic factor AND enivornment factor are also important.

Is enivronment really the main concern around the world?? Come to think about it, are we reaLLy preparing to sacrifics our earning in order to save our world? If we do, we can prevent so many things from NOT happening. example: Extinction of animals, flora and fuana around the world due to deforestation. Increase of greenhouse gases due to burning of forest and increased the rate of Ozone layer from depletion. Increase in temperature around the world, melting of Ice Caps at North and South pole causing the rise of sea level and increase the chances of forest fire. When soil erosion occurs and the sediments are being washed away rain to nearby lakes or river causing the water to be acidic(pH less than 7) harming the aquatic lives. In addition, soil ersoion also causes flood due to the increase of accumulation of sediments on the sea bed as the eroded sediments as surface runoff.

However. if we only preserves the enivronment then how about our country's econmic? Who will then help us and support us economically? Though environment factor is important but the country;s developement is also important. Examples: kalimatan main source of income are from logging, extraction of oil and mining. If the Government choose to stop all these activities and preserving the forest, the main source of income in that area will disappear, retrenchment will occurs. Hence the people would not be happy with the government, riots and looting would occurs too. However, government would make use of the money that they have earned from the selling of timbers to provide good facilities to their locals. Provide good sanitation and good healthcare to prevent its locals from sufferering diesease. provide and gives its locals good education would further help the country to boost up their economic development. Provide enough food supplies to their locals. Hence its locals would not be suffering from starvation, diesease and national conflict due to lack of all these factors.

I think Environment factor is the most important factor as no matter how rich a person can be once the world meets its doom even the whole money in the earth also can't save you. Example; without the oxygen you will be unable to breath and hence die in a very parfactic way and hence your money holding in your hands were useless in the end as you are unable to spend them.

  27. Deforestation is not neccesary for economic growth. And the government's main concern should be Conservaton of the Rainforest.Deforestation is clearing of the forest. When we clear Forests,Global Warming increased.

We human beings know that the forests is the "lungs of the earth".We also clearly know that we depend on each other for survival.Forests gives out oxygen for us to breathe and they need the carbon dioxide that we gave out.So naturally,if one of us suffer, slowly the other party will also feel the impact.

Government shouldn't think of economic growth only. When our world is going to be destroyed,is it still worth thinking of economic growth? Before they want to think of economic growth, they should conserve our forests(places where most of our natural resources is found). We didn't realise that economic growth also depends on the natural resources found in forests, such as Medicines.

Now with most of the forests gone,we start to realise that we are losing so much things that are important in our daily life and for hospitality. And we slowly start to feel the impact as recently, over the years, many cases of natural disaster occurs which left a great impact in certain countries example Tsunami(2004) and Hurricane Katrina(2005).As what Former Vice-President of America,Mr Al-Gore,who have been doing campaign about the world's conservation and global warming which would affect us.

Economic growth is important but we also need to think of conservation of the forests. However, economic growth will not be long lasting if we care less for our environment.Conserve the forests now and enjoy long-lasting economic growth?Or Enjoy economy only and suffer later?

  29. Conservation of the Rainforest should be the main concern of the Government. The clearing of the rainforests will results many environmental problems such as global warming, haze, extinction of flora and fauna as well as increase in flooding.

The release of the carbon dioxide from rainforest would accelerate global warming. It will causes sea levels to rise and also change the amount and pattern of precipitation which may result in flooding and drought.

Haze often occurs when dust and smoke particles accumulate in relatively dry air. When weather conditions block the dispersal of smoke and other pollutants, they concentrate and form a usually low-hanging shroud that impairs visibility and may become a respiratory health threat.

Rainforests currently provide sources for one-fourth of today's medicines, and 70 percent of the plants found to have anticancer properties are found only in the rainforest. The rainforest and its immense undiscovered biodiversity hold the key to unlocking tomorrow's cures for devastating diseases.

Does money more important than having a good health and our life? DEFINITELY NO!!! Although by improving the economic growth, there were be better standard of living and other benefits. But conservation of the rainforest is still more important compare to economic growth. However, clearing of rainforest is not the only way to improve the economic growth. We could improve the economic growth through other ways that will not cause bad effect on the environment. Hence, the government can conserve the rainforest and increase the economic growth at the same time.

  31. We think that the conservation of the rainforest should be the main concern of the Government.

The beauty and humungous size of a primary rainforest are indescribable. Rainforests have evolved over millions of years to turn into the incredibly complex environments they are today. Rainforests represent a store of both animal and plant species that for ages, have contributed a wealth of resources for the survival and well-being of humankind. These resources have included basic food supplies, clothing, shelter, fuel, spices, industrial raw materials, and medicine for all those who have lived in the forest and beyond. Hence, it is important to conserve it.

Experts agree that by leaving the rainforests intact and harvesting its many nuts, fruits, oil-producing plants, and medicinal plants, the rainforest has more economic value. The discovery of some medicinal plants has led to research being made in the field of medicine. Research has shown that 70 percent of the plants found to have anticancer properties are found only in the rainforest. For instance, two drugs obtained from a rainforest plant known as the Madagascar periwinkle, have increased the chances of survival for children with leukemia from 20 percent to 80 percent.

At least 80% of the developed world's diet originated from the tropical rainforest. Its abundant gifts to the world include fruits like avocados, coconuts, figs, oranges, lemons, grapefruit, bananas, guavas, pineapples, mangos and tomatoes; vegetables including corn, potatoes, rice, winter squash and yams; spices like black pepper, cayenne, chocolate, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, sugar cane, turmeric, coffee and vanilla and nuts including Brazil nuts and cashews. Sufficient demand of these foods can effect positive change by creating a market for these products while supporting the native people's economy. This could contribute to the country’s economic growth as a whole.

Benefits of conservation of rainforests are immeasurable; hence it is crucial to protect it.

  32. I agree that deforestation is necessary to the economic development, however there are some disadvantages towards the economy.

Whenever people talk about deforestation, usually the things that spring to mind are negative thoughts. One of the benefits are
lumber production which are one of the most staple constructive materials in human society.
We can't live without lumber due to its one of the most basic natural resources, and unlike steel and stone, it is renewable simply by growing more trees. Therefore increase in job opportunities, estates and more income for the country.

    An example,
For every patch of forest cut down, arable land becomes available for farmers, or can be used as an area to place urban living sites like apartments.

Cleared areas: grants a much needed place to grow a food supply to deal with the planet's steadily expanding population of humanity.

Another benefit is some heavy forests are home to iron ore, mineral, and even oil deposits which can be used for man's needs.
As you can see that more often than not, the good outweighs the bad.

The planet's environment may indeed suffer from the effects of deforestation, but that is due to irresponsible use of the resources and other benefits provided, not the deforestation itself. It is to use what we glean from the Earth responsibly and wisely for humanity and the planet's benefit.

  33. The question that has brought up is really a matter of which. Economic growth vs conservation of the rainforest are both equally important but the stand is which should be the main concern?

To me I believe that the government should really focus on the conservation of the rainforest.
It’s easier said than done . Lets talk about the consequences which really ignites everyone. What will happen if there is inadequate rainforest in the world? Natural disaster would occur, for example flooding(trees roots which hold the ground are gone by cutting down trees), drought, typhoon and so forth.
With the occurrence of natural disaster which mostly caused by humans doing besides natural disaster for eg volcanic eruptions. The accumulation of the gargantuan amount of C02 in the atmosphere trapping sunlight causes global warming and the melting of the ice in the Antartica and the Artic. It is happening now and still on going. With the melting of the ice, the sea level would rise and causes great damage to low lands. To the extend it may even flood the whole world.

Money can be produced everywhere & at anytime but what about the forest, once it has been cut ,it takes a long time to get to it's original position. I agree to the previous comments that it's expensive to conserve the forest but would the government be cutting down more trees to get more land to boost its economic growth? But until when would it stop cutting down tress to create land for buildings for people to work ? If not ,do they need to cut down more trees for capital to support economic growth with the population on the rise?
Yes indeed by focusing on the economic growth the government would be more stable & be prepared in terms of crisis BUT the question is for how long?
The rainforest a.k.a the lungs of the earth is a part of us. We humans need to conserve the natural green of the earth so that our future generations for example our children could live with ease rather than putting on mask while walking down the streets just to buy lunch at a nearby shop.
The main point is that the earth would not last long without the rainforest in which similar to humans who smokes dying of lung cancer.

  34. Economic VS conservation of rainforest...
Well i believe that both have its stand and neither can we say which is more important then another. If you will say that Economic is a less important factors, that the country should focus on then i will ask if without income to the country how can the people survival be possible at all... unlike singapore some country was not located as a trading port so their major survival maybe on their resources for instant example is kalimantan what we have just learn they rely on lumber and coal for their survival... so that it can become a more and more rich place. If without lumber it could hardly grow to what it was like now...

Well if we say that coservation of the rainforest is the most important factors. I will not fully stand on that point. Conservation is important in the view of the rich nation but never the poorer nation... in rich nation they are able to earn their capital in lots of ways as rich nation mostly have good talent who is well educated and able to support the country so to my coclusion both should be evenly control. For example the rich nation could actually use money to conserve the tree in other country just like buying a piece of land but making it a reservation area. As all of us know how important is the trees to us the human being. It is only possible if every single one plays their part really well to protect the earth...

  35. I say, conservation of the rainforest should be the main concern for the government if they wants an economic growth. This was because after reading the resources, I realized that the benefits for conservation of the rainforest could helps in the ecomomic growth in long run.

Firstly, conservation of the rainforest could protect the so call "Lungs of the planet" which provides us with 20 percent of oxygen. This could largely affect the human beings all around the world.

Secondly, the 80% of the worlds diets are dependent on the rainforest which could
hold the fate of the productions of food in the world. The amount of the productions could affect the economy.

Besides that, we are also aware that the rainforest itself holds 10 million species of plants and animals. This millons of plants could
bring us with high medical value and benefits.
By destroying the rainforest would led to the "Butterfly effect" which affect the change in food chain.
Eg. Loss in the plantations would led to loss of food for the herbivores, loss in herbivores would led to a loss in carnivores because they are their only food sources.
This will pose a threat to extinct animals or any endanger species.

Resources like tin , rubber , coal and wood are being obtain from the rainforest which can greatly affect the growth of the economics.
It would be best the conservation of rainforest should come first as we can obtain many resources from the rainforest once its is being replant or regenerate.
As u see , economics growth and conservation of rainforest are interlinked ,the conservation of rainforest would be at the first place and economics will grow due to wide variety of resources we can obtain .

  36. we must say both points are important and both should be the main concern of the government
because if we're one sided , then the other problem caused might be serious too. therefore its a must
for government to balance both economic growth and the conservation of the rainforest.

but despite of balancing both factors ,
our opinion is that conservation of the rainforest is much more important than the economic growth. this is because rainforests are very important places because they directly benefit the health of our planet. They act as lungs for the Earth by absorbing large amounts of carbon dioxide and producing oxygen in exchange. Rainforests also provide us with many foods, raw materials and medicines. therefore it is clearly shown that we have to conserve the rainforest and protect them because we can't survive without rainforests.

there are many many many problems that will happen if we fail to conserve the forest such as ..
    1) without the rainforest to soak up rain and release it slowly, floods and droughts become will become more common.
    2) many species of birds, animals, and plants will not be able to find the right conditions they need in order to live, and they will become extinct!
    3) indigenous people have lived in rainforests for thousands of years. an theyy help us to learn what we need to know about the rainforest. Many of them are facing extinction as the rainforests diminish.
    4) burning the forest adds to the greenhouse effect. Carbon dioxide traps heat in the lower atmospheree, which may lead to global warming.!!
    5) malaria and heart disease are treated with some medicines made from rainforest plants. and if there are no rainforests , these diseases canoot be treated!!
    6) children with leukemia are treated with a drug from a rainforest flower too.
again if there are no rainforests they will all suffer!

infact everyone will suffer without rainforests!
therefore our opinion is that conservation of the rainforests is much more important and should be concentrated on by the governments unlike economic growth which are obviously not that necessary compared to conservation of the rainforests.

SO GO AND SAVE THE RAINFORESTS GUYS!! YOU CAN DO IT!

  37. In my opinion, conservation of the rainforest is much more important TODAY.Forest are being cut down rapidly to make way for factories, homes, farms and other more commercially valuable ‘items’ to the people. However, this ‘items’are contributing factor for the worsening of the Earth’s condition. The biggest cause of the worlds present state is because of humans. We humans cut down trees, use natural resources at a rapid rate and are unaware of the circumstances that can effect the people in the world today and in future.

Perhaps last time, people are trying to keep up with the ever-improving world and we have to cut down trees for agricultural purposes. However, today,we cut down trees even though we don’t need it.We humans create vehicles to assist us in our life. But this vehicles give put poisonous gases, such as carbon dioxide, that can pollute the environment. In other terms,we are killing ourselves.

Natural disasters such as flooding and landslides occurs because there is no presence of trees to control them.Global warming occurs because there is no trees to keep the temperature down and replenish our oxygen.

Hence, several measures had been made to make sure that the forest is stayed conserved.Logging companies have to replant back the area of trees that have been cut.trees are being set aside for conserving purposes and also for ecotourism.Forest fires are now illegal because it cause great harm to the world.Illegal logging are being controlled at areas with commercially valuable trees.Selective cutting is also introuduced so that only commercially valuable trees are being cut and thus, lowering the damage in the forest.

However, these measures are not being carried successfully. The rate of trees being replanted is slower than the trees being cut.Illegal logging is hard to be controlled because of its vast hectares of forested area. Thus,I can conclude that conserving the rainforest should be the main concern of the government because of the massive damage we are causing, the world in the future will not be the same ever.

  38. In my opinion,Conservation of the Rainforest should be the primary concern right now.we are talking about now and the future, and why we must conserve the rainforest instead of economic growth.Global warming already start since the 1970s ,however theres no action to reduce or to stop global warming.Until now we people are expriencing the impact of global warming and still no action had been done. The ice glacier in antartica is melting . In less than 50 years time ,all the ice will be no more and sea level is going to rise up more than 20 feet. This will cause alot of economic problems as many lie lying country and state will exprience flood in certain areas, land area gets smaller and smaller. If we did not conserve the rainforest now, this will result in speeding up the process of globalwarming and soon we will exprience the full impact of global warming, more disasters.Conservation of rain forest will help us as forest is considered as the 'green lungs of the earth'.everyday, photosynthesis occurs in the rainforest which provide oxygen for the living things on earth,we humans are no exception. If we did not focus on conservation of rainforest, who is going to provide us oxygen with thousands km sq of rainforest being cut down everyday.Conservation of rain forest will help our future generations too,if we cut down all the rainforest now,in future what will our future generations see n exprience? ,they will not be able to see ice on mountains, they will not see the beautiful rainforest and will exprience the full impact of global warming almost every day.So i suggest Conservation of rainforest is the best option for us and the future generations

In the battle of concern between the two, conservation of the rainforest should be more concerned by the Government and everyone on Earth

Reason being is that rainforests plays a big deal in the surviving exsistence of the Earth.
Rainforests provide Earth with suitable living conditions for humans.animals and plants. Therefore without the rainforest there will be no economy.

The reason the government should prioritise the saving of rainforests more than economy growth is because without saving rainforests, there wont be an economy to even work with. The rainforests provides resources like water, oxygen, food and shelter. These are important for economy growth.

The government should also concerntrate more on saving rainforests because more forests are being destroyed. This increased have caused danger signs of global warming and serious climate change. This increase in dissapearing forest will cause more severe climate changes and disasters, like floods, droughts, tsunamis and forest fires.Saving the rainforest is much more important than building up the economy.

  43. Well...the government should be more concern with the conservation of rainforest rather than the economic growth because firstly, God has created this and thus we as humans must preserve it well...Coming back to the topic, rainforests have a lot of different species of animals and plants and if we destroy the rainforest which is their home, many of the animals and species will die and if there are endangered animals, it can probably be extinct after their home is destroy and people from the next generation could only see it in books and know about it but never see it in real life...Adding on to it, humans can’t get their nutrient they from some animals, it will affect the health too and with extinct of animal it will also lost tourists as some natural places with animals are attracting people form other part of the world to go to the forest and see the animal with less tourists , economy will eventually decrease too. This is what people are concerning now. So saving the environment come first. A question : what will u feel if someone wants to burn our homes or destroy it? Feel angry, feel sad? Isn’t it the same as what the animals and other species in the rainforest will feel?

IF the government are going to continue destroying the rainforests, there will be a serious climate change and Global Warming will occur...Well right now Global Warming is already happening...Natural disaster occurring at different places, raise in water levels causing floods to occur more frequently...Do we really want all this?! I don't think so...If the government doesn't want all disaster to happen, they should really think twice before cutting down the rainforests because they don't want this worsen the condition of the Earth. Instead of putting all their attention on economy they should even pay more attention on saving the rainforest to achieve a balance. If today is the end of the world will you still thought of way to boost up economy or will you regret that you didn’t pay more attention on saving the earth? It will be too late for u to regret when the day really come. So saving the earth now is more important that economy.

  44. Both are equally important! If we don't bother about conserving the rainforest,it will be destroyed..And if we don't bother about Economic growth, the economy will fluctuates and it will cause economy downturn.

Rainforest is known as Lungs Of The Earth as it provides Oxygen to Living Things. They also change carbon dioxide into oxygen. Not only that,it contains a lot of animals, food, medicine and useful materials..Rainforest have many uses. Therefore if we do not conserve them and destroy them, all the good thing about the forest will be GONE!really... GONE! Forever! If we let the forest being destroy,100 years from now,Earth will have no GREENS!! no new medicine from plants,no wood for furniture,no animals,no food!!! nothing! walau...So Rainforest is a vital part of the EARTH...without it,there will be a lot of negative impacts like Global Warming..I'm sure you guys don't like to be in a humid weather..so pls, start planting trees and conserve the forest NOW! So now,my conclusion is,we should conserve the rainforest..cause it takes a billion years to have back what humans had taken away...and as for economy..not forever that people lose money..money will come and go..

  45. I think that both are really important as a country will need both factors. Well its been years people have been cutting down trees and yes money is being made but its destroys the rain forest. What a country needs for both to be safe is "consistency". Cutting down trees yes it may be done but when replacing it, it does create a problem as they can't replace almost all in fact 75% of what they've cut down. As for economic growth they don't always have to depend on the rain forest for their money. That's when the government needs to step in and really make a choice for its country and its own benefits. So yeah I think well I would choose to conserve the rain forest for the country for its later benefits and for the later generation. Thanks.

They act as giant lungs for the Earth by absorbing large amounts of carbon dioxide and producing oxygen in exchange. Rainforests also provide us with many foods, raw materials and medicines and Every year about 20 million hectares of rainforest are destroyed worldwide. They are logged for timber and cleared to plant crops and graze cattle. Most of the world's remaining rainforests are in developing nations and the financial return on timber and farming is crucial for survival of people in those nations and takes precedence over rainforest conservation. As a result, destruction continues at an alarming rate . even how develop a counrt is but 1 fine day the world will be destroyed

  47. Both conservation of rainforest and economic development are equally important. However, there are advantages and disadvantages.
Forests have to be cleared for development of industries, agriculture, housing and transportation. As such, this increase the income growth rapidly as there are many jobs opportunities and better standard of living. Natural resources such as timber are used to manufacture furniture and paper, as well as to construct buildings.
However, cleared of forest will harm mother’s nature. This can cause deforestation and resulted in extinction of flora and fauna and increase in flood. The haze is caused by burning of forest. It also can cause global warming when the industries produced a lot of greenhouse gases. Farming practices also led to deforestation and caused extensive environmental damage.

In my opinion, economic growth is much more important.Lots of money are needed to replenish the lost forest.Through having good relations with other countries,we can contribute to subside global warming and save the Earth.Through having joint forces,we can help to capture illegal loggers, prevent forest fires, commercialize global warming and most importantly, coming up with another source of energy for the world. We as humans must be responsible for our own home,Earth. If we can't even save our own home and be responsible to rectify the problem, then we have fail as being the 'smartest living creature in the whole galaxy'.There are many different source of energy that we can use such as light energy from the Sun,geothermal energy from the ground and many more.Countries all over the world are starting to use this energy for a better future ahead.

to our opinion, both are equally important as this will burden each and every perspective. however, to be exact, conservation of rainforest should be given alot more concerned as when something happened to our forest, people all around the world will have higher chances of being affected as nearly half of the world species for example the plants, animal, micro-organism are destroyed and threathened due to rainforest deforestation. what deforestation was are actually mainly concerned on burning of forest, this will led to losing of important species which have been mentioned above. this species will actually helps us in alot of way, therefore if we lose them, we will suffer alot. on the flip side, not only us will suffer but the species in the forest too. other than losing these species, there will be different kind of pollution might happened, such as the air and water pollution which definitely affects major group of people who lived nearby the forested area. people may suffered of breathe problem in haze cases for example. other than concerning only the affects it may caused, we also must look at the real perspective which is that our forest is the only natural major problem happened to economic growth, the concerned is only on the country concerned itself, but when our forest is "dying", everyone will be affected. there will be no longer a cure that comes from forest to cure sickness, economic doesnt does that in fact it increase sickness in each and every people because they are lack of money. therefore, it is very very very very important to conserve our rainforest. we wont have to worry if our rainforest is superly healthy in that sense. so, what are you guys waiting for? start now before it is too late. we should prepare to do the right thing before anything bad happened. even though it is already happening, we actually can prevent it to become alot more worse. like all of us know, our forest is like the green lungs of the earth.

  51. Economic growth and Conserving the Rainforest are equally the important factors for the benefit of we, human beings and at the same time for all living things. However both the Economic growth and Conserving the Rainforest have advantages and disadvantages.

Economic growth had generate many incomes for many countries around the world. It also reduce the world from suffering critical poverty. This is because of an advancement in modern technology. An example is that with R&D, scientist had find ways to reduce famines in LDCs. One way is to genectically modified food to a food that contains medicine. However there are disadvantages in economic growth which is the income gap between the rich and the poor and the increasing in human population cause enviromental effects such as deforestation.

That is why conserving the rainforest is equally important. Forest are known as the 'Green Lungs of the Earth' as they replenish the oxygen supply and remove carbon dioxide from the air. As carbon dioxide is rising in the atmosphere due to factories, vechicles and etc, it is important to conserve rainforest as forest helps to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the air by the process of photosynthesis and helps to regulate the temperature of the Earth. The Amazon rainforest in Brazil and the rainforest in Indonesia are the main concern to conserve as most rainforest are made up from these two countries. With the use of Selective cutting, a method that logged commercially valuable trees and non-valuable trees are retained. In this way, this reduces the damage caused by logging. However due to high demand in economic growth, human clear the rainforest faster than restoring the forest which is in a slow pace. If there is no more forest, human being can't sustain their economic growth as most resources came from forest. At the same time there will be loss of flora and fauna and lead to an extinction of our planet Earth.

Therefore it was difficult to see which of the factors are important for human beings. If human beings are more concerned with Conserving the Rainforest, the Economic growth will suffer and if human beings are more concerned with Economic growth, it will lead to an extinction of flora and fauna. Thus we can conclude that both factors are equally important for human beings and livings things around the Earth.
